Book a driving test
Before you begin to book a driving test Elevate Driving School in Nottingham suggests the following:
Make sure you are on the official .gov website, other websites cost significantly more.
You will need your UK Provisional driving licence number.
If you’re a Key Worker, Critical Care Worker or Essential Worker, you’ll also need a scanned copy or photo image of any one of the following:
- You must have passed your Theory test in the last 2 years
- Your work Employee ID badge
- A company email to your work address from your employer, confirming you work for them.
- A company letter from your employer, confirming your essential need to drive and your employee status.

You can check the cost of your Practical driving test with the DVSA before you start.
Make sure you are booking a driving test @.gov.uk website.
You must have lived in England, Scotland or Wales for at least 185 days in the last year before the day you take your Practical driving test.
Driving tests are currently suspended but Emergency Practical Driving Tests are taking place for Key Workers and Critical Care Workers.
If you do book an Emergency Key Worker Test and you do need a driving instructor to give you some lessons and take you for your test.
